Karen & Larry

KareBear and Lare…A love Story

I wanted to share the heartwarming story of Karen and Larry, two geese who were separated for a month but never lost their love for each other. Despite being apart, they knew they were meant to be together and when they finally reunited, it was a beautiful moment.

Their story reminds us that true love knows no boundaries, and that no matter how far apart we may be, if we're meant to be together, we will find a way. So here's to Karen and Larry, and to all the lovebirds out there who know that distance is just a temporary obstacle on the path to love. ❤️🦢 #truelove #lovebirds #geese #reunited #nevergiveup

Karen and Larry are two geese who had been inseparable since the day they met. They swam together, nested together, and even shared their meals together. They were truly meant to be.

One day, Karen and Larry were out for a swim when a strong current separated them. Karen searched frantically for Larry, but he was nowhere to be found. She was devastated and lost.  She didn't know how she would go on without him.

Karen was able to find a safe refuge at the Ithaca Boat House along the waters of Cayuga Lake with a family that loves geese and have raised them in the past.  Karen Slowly began to trust her adopted family, but she was still sad and sassy from being without her partner.

Days turned into weeks, and Karen grew increasingly lonely without Larry. She missed their long conversations and their playful swims. She even missed their silly arguments.

During a family walk, Karen’s adoptive human sibling Luca spotted her at the top of a waterfall up the Railroad tracks from their home. It just didn’t make any sense.  Why would she be up there and how did she get to the top? Karen is a white domestic goose that doesn’t really fly.  After much speculation it was decided that the waterfall was actually a magic portal and we were getting another goose!

Another week went by and after a month of being apart, Karen spotted a familiar figure floating in the distance. She recognized Larry's unique pattern of feathers immediately and knew he was coming back to her.

As he approached, Karen could hardly contain her excitement. Karen led Larry to their new home and introduced him to their new family. Karen nuzzled up against Larry's feathers, happy to be reunited once again.

From that day forward, Karen and Larry have never separated again. They stay by each other's side, swimming and playing together on Cayuga Lake at the Ithaca Boat House. Every day they spend enjoying the beauty of life and love as two geese who have found their soulmate.
